Terminal server and Outlook

I have some users that work at home through VPN and log in on our test
terminal server. Working with outlook seems to go fine... only one user has a
problem with sending his e-mail. His e-mail stays in the outbox and is only
able to send it when he's back in the office.
please advise.

You didn't mention if you're using Exchange or not. This is useful to know.

What version of Outlook?
What SP?
What version of Windows Server?
What SP?
Type of VPN, i.e. PPTP or IPSec/L2TP? If using PPTP, why?

Did you try recreating the user's Outlook Profile from scratch, i.e. backup
PST (if not using Exchange, or are storing the exchange mailbox in PST (BAD
IDEA). This is the first thing I would do.

Does this happen when not connecting via VPN, i.e. can you logon to the TS
on the local network and send/receive mail w/o problems?

We are using Terminal server and exchange in a windows server 2003
environment. Also Outlook 2003 SP1. We do not use pst files to store
mailboxes We are busy implementing ipsec but for now we are using pptp but
the problem still remains when the user logs in without using VPN from the
workspace. The error he gets when trying to send is: "exchange
server-'sending and receiving'-reported error unknown error 0x80040119.

Thanks for the reply,

I solved it by rebuilding the users mail profile... thanks for the help
anyway :)
