I am using a win2k client program to access to my company's server from my
home.

Can I have my local printer (at home) print for the file I am now connected
to my company's server ? Can anybody explain to me how to ?

And can I have some data being transferred to my local hard disk ? If I
can, then please explain it to me.

Thank you.

Yes, you can print to your local printer through terminal
services. All you need to do is have the printer
installed on your client and havethose printer drivers
installed on the terminal server. Better yet, you should
just edit the terminal server's ntprint.inf file and force
it to map your client printer to a driver that is pre-
installed.

And no, you can't map your client drives. However, you
can transfer files in a similar manner by using a program
like TSDropCopy from AnalogX.com. If you use that
program, be sure to update your TS client on your client
machine:

The unfortunate things about those utilities are that they
don't work over the internet (assuming you don't have a
VPN).

What server OS is your terminal server ? If you use the RDP client (Remote Desktop Connection) to connect to a Win2003 server, it has check box options for local resources, including printers, serial ports, and disk drives, to be included as devices when you connect. The RDP client is built into windows XP but can be installed on Win98 and Win2k workstations as well
