Temporary Licenses

We have unlimited CAL for TS but apparently that's only
for PCs on the domain. I have users who log in from home
and they get a temp license but they've expired. Can this
be changed? Can I delete the temp license and start over?

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

TS CALs can be issued to clients both inside and outside your
domain. Domain membership has nothing to do with it.

Some possibilities are:
* you have W2K Pro or XP Pro clients at work, which get a free TS
CAL from the Licensing Server (from the unlimited pool), but users
run W2K or XP Home Edition at home (or Windows 9x or NT or ME).
Those clients require a purchased TS CAL.
* there might be a "black hole router" between your users at home
and the TS, which blocks packets above a certain size. This
prevents the transfer of the permanent TS CAL to the client (on
first connection, the client gets a temporary license, on second
connection, it gets a permanent license).

If this is the problem, you have to change the MTU size. Check the
Terminal Services FAQ, there are 2 items about this under
"Connectivity"

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserver2003/community/centers/termi
nal/terminal_faq.asp

OK.. The black hole issue is not an issue. How do I
purchase then install the CAL's for a MAC on our network
and XP home users who are getting temps only? I need
these people to connect permanently.

Thanks again.
Jeremy
