temporary interruption of music

I am using Windows XP to run i-Tunes 6.0.4.2 and during playback, almost
every song stops for a minute or so, and then resumes playing, only to stop
again in several minutes. I can reset to play by hitting the pause button and
then the play button... very frustrating... Any solutions?????? Thanks.
