hi
I can't delete the files in my temporary internet folder, and I used to be
able to do that by selecting all and hitting delete. Now, some just stay
there and don't go away. What can I do to delete them?
Thank you.

Hi, navigate to C:\Documents and Settings\<You>\Local Settings\Temporary
Internet Files, and try deleting them from there.

Thank you for replying. That is exactly how I've been trying to do it.
Doesn't work.
Thank you.

Delete your HISTORY from the IExplorer TOOLS menu and then the temporary
files from the same menu. Should get most of them.

If the odd one is still in use, XP won't allow you to delete them. Typically
a 'JETxxxx.tmp', or the occasional '~xxx.tmp'.
Try again after the next reboot.

Hi, Try booting into Safe Mode and deleting.

Dear Doug,
First thank you for the kind help. Your suggestion worked. I don't know why
I had to clear the history this time. I didn't use to clear it and could get
rid of the temp int files... but not now. Second, I would like to wish you a
very merry Christmas and a wonderful prosperous, healthy New Year!
Hugs,
S. H.

I'm glad that it worked for you. Best wishes to you and yours.

Doug

As you surf, those files will naturally build up. This is intentional.
They can be deleted via TOOLS menu|OPTIONS.

Hi Chris,
Sorry to have gotten back to you so late. Thank you for the information. I
tried all ... I don't which it was, but they worked. Thank you so much.
