Temporary Internet files question

Hello. I used to have an old version of IE, and had no problems. Now I am
using a new computer and I am using IE6. What I want to know is this: the
temporary internet files do not appear to be showing up. I access
Tools>>Internet Options>>Temporary Internet Files>>Settings. I then went to
View Files. The files are only showing up from yesterday. Please tell me how
I get the recent files. I want to store a certain pic that will not let me by
right-clicking and then "save as" so I thought I could simply find it in the
temporary files. Please tell me where I am wrong. Thank you.

Hi,
You might have an easier time by clearing the Temporary Internet Files then
going directly to the site in question. There will be a lot fewer files in
the cache to look through.

Hope this helps,

Thank you Don. That is just what I needed. Can you please explain to me why
the file came up, only after I deleted the current files? Why would those
files simply not be added to the existing ones? They were not there, until I
deleted the previous files. I know this because I opened the folder and kept
hitting refresh. I also orgainized the files by size, and there was no jpg
large enough to be the obvious size of this graphic file in question.

But your suggestion worked. Also, can you explain to me why some files you
cannot simply right click and save? Some the option is not there, and others,
just saves a 1kb empty .gif file. Is this something the web programmers do? I
am assuming maybe because the image is copyrighted or something? I do not
know much about this stufff, but that is my guess. Thanks again.

Hi,
Sorry... don't know why that JPG wasn't visible on your first look through
the TIF folder. But, I've had that happen.

Website designers can make it difficult to save an image or other content
through Javascript or other techniques such as putting the image behind a
transparent GIF. That may be where the 1 KB GIF file came from. There's
often a workaround like PrintSceen> Paste.
