Temporal AA???

Just fired up ATI Tool and it says:

"Temporal Anti-Aliasing seems to be enabled on your system, unlike normal
AA, Temporal AA will cause visual errors in the tests. Please disable it
before scanning. All other features (OC, etc) will work fine with TAA on."

I am using the latest Omega drivers (not based on Cat 5.1), but don't see
any option to enable or disable TAA. Anyone have any ideas how to fix this?

In the stock ATi drivers (since 4.7, I think), there's a checkbox next to
the normal AA slider to toggle temporal AA. If it's not there in the Omega
panels, you can try RadLinker.
 
Thanks for the response. But Radlinker is part of the Omega drivers now, and
there is no temporal AA option with that.
 
Well, I never use anything but ATI's releases but according to the help file
info I posted for you under the drop down for fsaa should have something
like:
2x 4x 4xT2 4xT3 6x 6xT2 6xT3. So to disable TA just select one of the FSAA
settings that doesnt have a t2 or t3 at the end.
 
Thanks again. But it is set to a normal AA and it still says that TA is
enabled. I think I will ask the Omega Drivers dude...
 
Out of curiosity, why are you trying to run ATiTool anyway? If it's for
checking o/c artifacts, don't trust it.

There is much more to ATi Tool than checking artifacts, which I wouldn't be
relying on either. I myself am using ATi Tool to clock the video card high
only when in 3D to reduce heat, power consumption and noise level while in
2D mode and as much graphics power isn't needed. Also, I like how it can set
fan speeds depending on card temperature to keep the noise level down as
well as how it displays the GPU temperature in the system tray and writes a
temperature log if wanted.

I use ATITool mainly to control my fan speed. Improve cooling during heavy
gameplay, but quiet during desktop use. Works great! I don't overclock my
card, however you can apparently do it effectively with ATI Tool. I've had
disasters in the past with overclocking, and am a little leary with
overclocking a $500 video card. I do use the "Overdrive" feature however and
it gives a little bit of a boost, but need that extra fan speed to keep it
cooled so that it will overclock the little that the Overdrive does.
 
Hmm, the noise is something I never noticed since installing a VGA Silencer.
There's a high/low toggle switch, but I cannot hear a difference over my PSU
fans.

BTW, heat is a function of voltage, clock speed, and chip utilization. In 2D
mode, when those sixteen pixel pipelines aren't being used in parallel, the
heat generated will be naturally lower. How much of a temperature difference
do you see by de-overclocking the card in 2D?
