HI,

i have created a load of new templates and put them in the work gorup templates, so that when employees go file/new in word it takes them to the templates, which is good, but the employeees are use to accessing files with file/open and they know the path to the templates, and going this route allows them to edit the templates, is there a way that i can prevent them from doing this?, apart from the obvious teling them not too!!

help please

I would try the obvious first. If they are good templates, there should be
no reason for people to modify them. If they are mediocre, then you have to
expect people to modify them. You can access the Document Properties from
the File menu and see who is modifying them and take appropriate
disciplinary action.

You may be able to set up network permissions so that they have "read-only"
access to the template folder. It you can't do that, add a password to the
templates that has to be supplied in order to modify them.
