templates missing from fp2002

just installed it. follow the 'help' instructions for creating new page.
new>page or web>new from template>website template>one page web>ok>folders>

and that's what i go off... 'help' says to open the default.htm file by clicking open in browser

there is no default. only: _private, images, index.htm

out of desperation, i tried opening the index.htm in browser, but of course, it's a blank page.

i've tried opening almost every type of template there is. no luck.

obviously i'm a computer novice, and a total front page dunce, so any help would be welcome.
