If you are using PowerPoint 2002 or earlier, you need to save your template
as the blank template (thereby wiping out the blank template). Directions
for this are in the PPT FAQ at URL:
Create a default "blank" presentation with your own defaults
http://www.rdpslides.com/pptfaq/FAQ00245.htm
On the other hand, if you are using PowerPoint 2003, you can right click on
the template in question and select "Uses for all new presentations". This
will tell PowerPoint that you still want to have a blank template file on
your system, but that you want to use your template for all future
presentations created on this machine.
