I download a template from the Web to use in my PowerPoint application. After
it is downloaded, it goes into my "download" file. Where am I supposed to put
it after I have it downloaded? HOW do I access it through PowerPoint? If I
download a graphic with a .pot or .ppt , where does it go after it is
downloaded? I usually download everything to my special file but have no idea
where these files are supposed to go afterward. If I did NOT put it in the
special download file, where would it go and how would I access it? I am
thoroughly confused and am studying PP carefully but have not been able to
find out the answer. Thankyou in advance.

Dixie,
If you download a template the first thing you do is to save it to your hard
drive. Just hit the save button, in the save as list at the bottom of the
dialog, choose save as template (*.pot), PPT will automatically put you in
the templates folder. Give the template a suitable name and save. From now
on the template will be available. You can access it using the slide design
taskpane. If you do not see it in the available section of the pane, click
on the browse link at the bottom of the dialog and choose it from there.
This is assuming you use version 2002/2003.
Also have a look a these excellent tutorials by Sonia Coleman.

Thank you so much! Dixie
