Template for two column layout

Got big trouble, designing a template for a SlideLayout with two or more
text-columns. The master-emplate allows only for one headline and one
text-column to be predefined. When applying e.g. the two column template, not
all tab-stopp-settings are applied correctly.
Any help here??

Which version of PowerPoint do you use? You can design your own layouts only
in Office 2007.

Best regards,
Ute

Thanks very much.
Second question in this respect:
Can I at least - somehow - force the tab-stop configuration (for identation
of bullet-point-lists) to propagate correctly from the master (single-column)
to the "prefabricated two-column-desing"? It seems to be badly preconfigured
within those other designs based on the master. Maybe there is a patch for
PowerPoint2003.

Kind regards
Michael

Thanks, that you stay with me for solving my problem.

We do use PPT 2003 with SP2 as well.

To specify the problem in detail (unfortunately drawing is impossible here):
Within the master i specified, that (see format of lines below)
* all 5 levels of the bullet-point-list do have increasing identation and .
.. .
continuing text
* text is always aligned with start of text of first line of level. . . .
continuing text

Effect within two-column slide (here left column of those two):
For levels one to four - it's ok

* Level 5 starts far outside to the right of column-range and . . .
continuing text
* does not align text correctly with start of text . .
continuing text

There is (seems to be?) no way to force this to correspond to settings
within the master!

Summary for readers interested in similar problems:
1) I sent my "problem-ppt" (which was based on a slide-set received from
clients) to steve and
2) in parallel started to design my template on the basis of a scratch
factory-blank.ppt

I found out, that the ppt on question has been corrupted, so that the
tab-stop-settings (only for level 4 and 5) were not propagated from the
master to the two-column-slides. Steve also identified this to be the cause.
He suggested to save some work by copying all the slides of my original
slideset into the new "from-scratch-template" and to assign the propper
slide-typse.

Finally I I successfully followed this approach.

"Hope my company soon changes to PPT2007, since Design-support for
two-column-slides will be much better."

Thanks to Steve ;-))
