Temp monitoring on a SATA drive, P4PE

I've had an asus P4PE for a while (using conventional PATA drives),
but just recently purchased a SATA drive - Seagate 7200x7 160Gig. I
used Seagate's tool to copy the old PATA boot disk over to the new
SATA, and all works fine.

But - my two temp monitor utilities DTEMP and HMONITOR - cannot 'read'
the tempertature of this new disk. It has been suggested that the
problem lies in the Promise fasttrack 137 SATA/RAID controller.

Has anyone got DTEMP, HMONITOR, or any "SMART" utility to work with
the P4PE SATA RAID controller?

I use MBM5 to monitor my drive temps (SiI 3112A / nForce2) might be worth a
go. (Option is at the bottom of the General -> Basic config)

I purchased an Adaptec SATA connect card (add - on PCI card to provide
SATA interface) and when using it to talk to the same drive, I can run
both DTEMP and HMONITOR, so it seems that the Promise FastTrack 376
(on board controller) is not passing through the SMART data.
