Just trying to understand what's happening.
I have a 2000 server.
We set up Terminal Services to test it. No license server so I was
getting TEMP licenses issued. 90 day grace period. Correct?
It worked fine from my Win98 workstation and has continued to work for
testing for much longer than 90 days. My Win 98 workstation can still
connect and run.
Now I have an interchangeable drive and I have installed XP Pro on it
for testing. When I swap it in to my workstation and bootup with a TS
client component installed, I can not get this configuration to
connect to the TServer. The Event log on the Terminal Server drops the
connection and shows this Warning each time I try to connect.
"The terminal server cannot issue a client license. "
Seems to make sense, but why can my workstion still connect when I use
its original Win98 configuration?
The license has not expired? The 90 day grace period on the Terminal
Server means that it will STOP ISSUING LICENSES after that period and
look for a License Server, but it still honours any which were issued?
Is that correct?
Appreciate any insights...
