Temp Internet Files Folder not functioning

I moved my Temporary Internet Files Folder to another drive. But now it
appears empty, no files are shown in it. They are there because when I browse
offline with History, I get all the pages I had visited.

Right Clicking and getting Properties shows that there is content there, It
just does not show the files anymore.

Is there a tweak to restore functionality in the Temporary Internet Files
Folder?

You can change the value of Favorites in the Registry in these
two keys: (ignore the second if the value is not there)

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell
Folders

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User
Shell Folders

For Windows 2000/XP:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User
Shell Folders]
Set the Favorites path to : %USERPROFILE%\Favorites

The above should be a REG_EXPAND_SZ value, not REG_SZ

Thanks Alan, I've checked those reg keys and they are you wrote for
Favourites.

But it is the Temporary Internet Files Folder that shows no files in it when
I bring it up in Explorer.

I moved the folder back to it's default of Docs & Settings\My User
Profile\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files, and it still does not show
the content. 'Show hidden files' has been checked in Explorer Folder
Options\View.

The settings are exactly the same as my other PC which displays all the
files in its Temporary Internet Files Folder.

It seems to me that the Temporary Internet Files Folder needs repairing. Is
there anyway to do this?

Try the following:

Go to Start -> Run and enter this in the Open box,
%Homepath%\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5
Hit OK.
You should now be able to view the files.

By default, you can't view the contents of you TIF folder in
Windows Explorer.

By typing Content.IE5 when Explorer is at TIF folder I get the Sub
directories (eg 3JQ43QE8) with the files in them.

If the files are not viewable by default in Explorer, why does my other PC
show them all when ckicking on the TIF folder? It does not show a
Content.IE5 folder or the sub folders just all the files.

I guess it's just how it is, anyway thanks Alan, Nepatsfan and RonK for your
replies
