I see that Vista has trouble purging its temp directories. Anyone have an
automated or scripted solution for cleaning out

c:\windows\temp
&
C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Temp?

Thanks,
mxh

Disk Clean up has an option for deleting temp files.

mxh,

Just go to Ramesh's site and follow his instructions for setting the
registry to have disk cleanup utility see the temp files.
Disk Cleanup Utility-(cleanmgr.exe)-is defaulted to 7 days, I HATE temp
files, so I set it to 0(zero) .
Tried it for Vista 32bit; works great.
Here's the link to Ramesh's site.

I didn't know there was a 7 day lag. Thanks.

Very interesting program, it just cleaned 250 Megabyte's of junk temp and
junk log files from my computer, just FYI.

Thanks to all for the responses. I wound up using Chad's suggestion for
ccleaner. It has many file deletion and registry cleaning options, will run
on start and is a quick way to get the job done.

Thanks again,
