I am having a problem with telnet client on windows 2000
desktop. I have 2 systems, both at the same service level
windows 2000.
Both systems are physically attached on a 9.12.x.x. On that
network there is an attached router that also has an
interface on a private 172.x.x.x network.
The problem I am having is that one of the desktops I can
not telnet through to the 172.x.x.x network. Both can ping
all the address, both can telnet to other systems on the
9.12.x.x network. One has no problems getting through to
the 172.x.x.x network, the other timesout.
I have swapped configurations, and physical network
connections, the problem stays with the box. I also have
a linux image available on the box, when I boot that image
I am able to telnet.
The only thing left is the windows config. I have loaded
the latest service packs on both, spent hours comparing
configuration with no luck.
Anyone know if there are any setting in window that would
limit the telnet client ?
