I want to be add the telnet client that is standard with XP
Pro to my XP Home edition. Where can I get this install?

Hi, jon -

It should already be installed. You can run telnet.exe
from a command line or from the run box.

I'm looking to install this as a service so I can access
the box via an outside source. Can it be run as a service?

Hi, jon -

A telnet client connects to a telnet daemon running on a
remote machine. The telnet client that comes with XP
Home won't do what you're asking and XP Home doesn't come
with a telnet daemon.

Your only choice here is a third-party program - I'd
search tucows or some other site for a telnet daemon
that'll run under XP Home. Shouldn't be too hard to find.

good luck!
