I'm looking for a simple telephone answering program that will take
messages. I don't need any advanced features like remote retrieval....

That facility is included with most modem install packages.

Thanks for the reply. I suspect that this modem is 8 years old. I could
probably dig up the old disk but there has to be something newer and maybe
better.

Try V3. Inc's call center pro. some nags but pretty much free ware.
