Any comments and direction would be helpfull!
Before I commit to this project I want to meke sure I am
not throwing myself in muddy waters!

I have two sites with 2 separate SBS 2K systems at each
site and they want to access each others' servers and /
or member servers. Is it technically possible?

If not can one SBS 2K connect to anothe standalone
windows 2000 member server on another SBS 2K?

Again, thanks for any help!

With a VPN you can have the two servers connect and talk,
you will want a very fast connection though! Think about
how long it can take to replicate if you have a very
small upload and/or download speed. But if you can
create a vpn, anything is possible :0

This is very easy to do.
<Do not> create your site to site VPN by going directly
into RRAS, typically your SBS sites will each be running
ISA.

Run the ISA VPN wizard on each end, be sure in your
planning to establish which site initiates the call.

Should I just use the SBS VPN capabilities of the two
sites or put two devices such as Sonicwall's firewall/VPN
at each end. The requirement is to have client
machines/users of one SBS to be able to access either a
win 2000 member server of another SBS environment or the
SBS servers and access business applications.

That is really up to you. A dedicated router is usually a better bet
than running a DC as a router. But you would need to revise your LAN routing
if your SBS servers are currently acting as Internet gateways for your LANs.

The VPN connection would not add much extra load, if your servers are
currently handling Internet access.

I have a question, it's not possible to have two sbs in to a lan. With the vpn it's possible?

Thanks
