We are unhappy customers of Microsoft, not with the
product, but with the TECHNICAL SUPPORT HELP WE GOT!!! My
husband has been trying to reconfigure my machine, after
it crashed... we purchased a 200.00 Windows XP software
package.... we did not expect to get a rude individual on
the phone (after getting past the computer generated
response)..... We believe that your people or employees
of microsoft are supposed the be there to HELP buyers of
the software... not be complete JERK!!! My husband is
very upset and angry with the response he got with trying
to cure a sick machine..... my machine crashed.... due to
a virus or something, we dont know.... or my son deleted
necessary files for booting up. We needed to be able to
put XP back onto my system... we bought this software not
long ago... we didnt steal it and only have this software
on 4 computers (which we read is perfectly ok).... we
didnt expect to hear someone on the other end being nasty
or presuming....... we needed help!! If your tech support
doesnt want to help people and do there job correctly and
do a job that requires talking to people all day... then
they need to find a job flipping burgers or something
where they can hide all day....... I have always believed
that public work dealing with the PUBLIC... should be
done by polite individuals who know how to deal with the
public efficiently... not rudely..... You will continue
to piss people off, and that is not good, especially when
people pay such high prices for the software..... geez if
the stuff was free it would be different story wouldnt
it.... but it is not free... that is a half week wages
for some folks.....nothing to scoff at.....better take
there jobs more seriously about who they make angry.....
This person can be replaced by another joe blow who does
need a job and CAN be nicer and helpful....

Thank you, have a nice day

Ms. unhappy person who bought your expensive software
just to be grumbled at by some rude microsoft employee....

Ms. unhappy person;
"only have this software on 4 computers (which we read is perfectly
ok)"
Where did you read this?
This is incorrect.
One license, one computer as it has always been with all Microsoft
consumer operating systems since at least Windows 95.

If you have a single license installed on 4 computers, you have 2
options:
1. Buy 3 more copies.
2. Remove Windows XP and revert to the previous OS or another
legitimate OS.

If the phone tech was rude, that is inexcusable.
However there may have been a misunderstanding relating to
installation and licensing.

Read the EULA you agreed:
Start/Run
Type "winver" ENTER
Click "End User License Agreement"

Geez calm down a little.(you hurt my feelings)
This is just a newsgroup and most everyone on here does not work for MS.
Everyone is here to help and ask for help equally.

Now back to your problem.
Problem
#1- you can not load the same copy of an operating system on more then 1
computer without purchasing a license (key code) for each computer.
