Hello Everyone!!

ISSUE
Our institution has a generic logon when using student designated computer
workstations within the Learning Resource Center (LRC) and computer labs.
When students print, they frequently are not aware of how many pages are
being output and when the print jobs complete. It is also difficult to
identify the originator and to differentiate between print jobs because
there is no delimiter page between each job.

ASSISTANCE NEEDED
With the execution of a print request sent to the operating system (OS), we
would like a screen to appear which states the number of pages to be
printed, the current date, and requests that the student enter his/her name.
All of this information would then be printed on a separator page to be
output preceeding the print job output. We do not intend to assign each
student a separate log on, nor do we plan to centrally track the number of
print jobs. However, if this is a feature of the OS, a batch job
implemented via the OS, or 3rd party software, we may choose to implement
the option.

Should your institution have suggestions on how this issue can be addressed,
it would be greatly appreciated if you would contact me at: (e-mail address removed)
or at the telephone number below. Thank you in advance for any information
you may be willing to provide.

Will await your reply.
Best Wishes!!

Sincerely,

Hi Elizabeth,

This is the wrong forum for this question: it's for questions about
Microsoft Access the database management system, not for access to
Microsoft.

You're more likely to get a satisfactory answer in one of the following
newsgroups.
microsoft.public.win2000.printing
microsoft.public.win98.printing
microsoft.windowsxp.print_fax
But I suspect that what your asking is rather difficult, and that it
would be simpler to have the students log on with their own names and
use the separator page facility that's built into many - or all? -
network printer drivers.
