Technet Validation process for evaluation software gets it wrong

I am trying to install the evaluation version of Small Business Accounting,
as it comes with the Technet Plus subscriber package. Every time it comes
back with an error message saying there was an unknown error validating
Windows.
I have tried it with IE7 beta, and Small Business Accounting, on 3 different
computers, all give the same error message.

Now interestingly, when I just go to microsoft.com/genuine and initiate the
validation from there, it validtes fine and I can download Antispyware and
the Calculator.

Why does validation work one way but not the other? I have 3 legal XP Pro
genuine Windows versions.

I have posted this in another group, but that didn't go anywhere:

Thanks in advance for your help.
