The tech article say to start the machine in Safe Mode
and fix the registry but I get this error in both normal
and safe mode. How can I start up my machine and get
around this error to make the needed fix?

Are you sure it isn't blaster or some variant?

I have the same problem, and I am sure it is not the
blaster worm.

This is on my wife's PC... she was working on it last
night and I was working in my office downstairs installing
a new light switch. I had to turn off the breaker that was
labled for my office..... but it was mislabled and it cut
power to her PC and half the up stairs.

Turned it back on and got this message. I am sure it is a
corrupt registry key. I just can't get to it to fix it.

Any suggestions?

Possibly restore the registry from a recent backup.
