I work at a public library where I teach beginning
computer users. Most of my students are older adults who
have never used a computer before. Usually they have just
bought a new machine with Windows XP. I need teaching
material that is geared toward a NEW computer user whose
very first computer is Windows XP.

All the Windows XP tutorials and books I've found assume
that you have been using Windows for years and you only
need to know the changes that XP has made. They say things
like "the task bar now has..instead of..." - but they
never tell you what a taskbar is in the first place.

Does anybody know where I could find an XP guide I could
adapt for my students?

Thanks,

each student should go to this site above
pick on "free sample" button
each student can get quantity 2 "free".
postage is free, too, i believe.
(or you can order and pay for bulk quantity)
and they do not send junk mail to you later

i suggest they order:

---windows XP---
---internet explorer 6.0----

these are 8.5x11 3-panel fold out cards with graphics and
lots of information....explore the site for more info.

Take a look at "Windows XP - Step by Step" from Microsoft Press. It covers
the core basics of using Windows and includes a CD with some files and
folder for performing the exercises described in the book.
