tea timer

a buddy is asking me about something that keeps popping up called teatimer1
on his system. it uses about 4000mbps and slows his system down. any ideas?

It's an optional part of the SpyBot S&D anti-Malware package.

Correct. I love SpyBot, but IMO teatimer is a
"not-quite-ready-for-prime-time" player. Leave it off. It's
questionable how much it helps, but unquestionable how much it annoys
and slows things down.

The problem with tea-timer is that it does not have a database of
legitimate programs and actions, so it must bug the user about every
little change that takes place on the system.
