I' exhausted making google and elsewhere searches for answers to the
following questions:

1) Is there a way (software program, etc) to list all the available
tcpip printers in my LAN?

2) how do I configure a tcpip printer from windows me? I know me
natively does not suppor but is there a free 3rd party software that
can do it for me? I remember i once used a jetdirect utility from hp
but they do not have it available anymore, in fact they have some
other webadmin crap that does not support winme

any help will be greaaatly appreciated

There's probably some type of portscanning software that could look for
port 9100 or lpr/lpd ports. The HP JetAdmin software detects JetDirects
only; I'm not sure how they do it.

*If* you have a real JetDirect, HP's Install Network Printer Wizard will
do it. Go to http://www.hp.com, click on Support And Drivers (lower
left), click on Download Drivers And Software, and enter Install Network
Printer Wizard in the box. Press Enter, and you'll be there. There is
a version for ME.
