Hi Friends.. i am a beginner in networking field.
I have a doubt as to if microsoft(tcp/ip) network needs to be
connected to a NovelNetware(ipx/spx) is there any protocol that takes
care of these two different network or two different protocols.
I have knowledge of some such protocol existance , but i am unaware of
what is that protocol.

Hi
TCP/IP is Not Microsoft protocol it is the protocol used for the Internet
and most Ethernet Local network.
You cam Install in Windows XP few protocols (TCP/IP + IPX/SPX, and even
NetBEUI) and they would work as needed.

Internet Protocol is routable - if you have multiple sections of network, you
can connect them by routers and TCP/IP traffic will flow between the sections.
IPX/SPX isn't routable, and this can have its advantages and disadvantages.

There are several other differences too.
