I have *never* seen this before:

Event Type: Warning
Event Source: Tcpip
Event Category: None
Event ID: 4226
Date: 8/23/2004
Time: 2:43:48 PM
User: N/A
Computer: (deleted)
Description:
TCP/IP has reached the security limit imposed on the number of concurrent TCP
connect attempts.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

As usual, the link is worthless.

I'm on glass @ 100 Mbps.

Anyone?

Xp home has a limit of 5 concurrent connections.
Xp pro has a limit of 10 concurrent connections.
Are you on a network that has more than the limit trying to connect? If so
you need to goto a server version to support more connections.

The SMB limit, which you are talking about (i.e. 5 concurrent connections
for XP Home and 10 concurrent connections for XP Pro), is a different limit
from the SP2 tcpip.sys limit on half-open connections which the OP is
describing.

For the info on the new limit that SP2 put on tcpip.sys
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/winxppro/maintain/sp2netwk.mspx
under the TCP/IP section in the "Limited number of simultaneous incomplete
outbound TCP connection attempts" section

Thanks for the info.
