Hello

I have usb 3g modem, which in itself works fine on another pc.

But when i plug it in another pc, the computer freezes. Windows won't open,
start menu won't open etc. etc.

At the moment i unplug the usb modem, the freezing stops and everything
works again.

I have traced the problem to "TCP/IP Netbios Helper" service. If i stop this
service before plugging in the usb modem, there is no problem.

What is causing this situation, and how to resolve it?
I can't stop this service permanently.

Thanks!

Hi
What is the status of the TCP/IP Netbios Helper" service on the PC that
does work with the Modem?
In any case if the Modem works with the service Off and you get a connection
use it with the service Off.
Make a note to your self that you disabled the service. It might be needed
to be switched On if the computer goes on a local network and needs to share
Files and Printer.

Hello

It's turned on when the problem occurs.
If i turn it off, there is no problem.

I tried to understand this service better, but to no avail.

Is it somehow connected to Active Directory, or other services, so it causes
the freezing in a LAN enviroment?

Hi
As far as I know this service has No dependencies.
If the computer is regularly configure for AD, there might policies that
interfere with certain activities.
