When naming objects, I have noticed a couple of different ways people are do
it. Can someone give me the pros and cons of using TblEmployees vs
tblEmployees?

Thanks,
Linda

I prefer tblEmployees as that "emphasizes" the "real" name of the table,
which is Employees. The tbl part is to let me see at a glance that the
object is a table and not a query, for example, but TblEmployees is harder
to see Employees, and all the table names tend to look more alike with Tbl.

Yes - at least, it is to me. The two names are the "same" so far as ACCESS
is concerned.

To add to what the other's have said, part of the "Hungarian" convention is
that all tags (and prefixes) are lower case.

In the big scheme of life there are several naming conventions with slight
variations.

My favorite, and has been since v 2.0, is Greg Reddick's. You can see an
online version at http://www.xoc.net/standards/rvbanc.asp and download a PDF
version at http://www.xoc.net/downloads/rvbanc.pdf. It has a nice
description of the Hungarian basics.

Hope this helps.
