Tasks: Stored in the Tasks folder. Don't have a duration associated with
them. Don't affect your calendar.. Can have reminders.
Appointments: Stored in the Calendar folder. Have a duration less than all
day. Can show as busy, free, out of the office, or tentative on your
calendar. By default, a reminder is set for 15 minutes before the start time
of the appointment.
Events: Stored in the Calendar folder. HAve a duration of one day or
multiple days. Default to show as free, but can show as busy, out of the
office, or tentative as well. By default, no reminder is created for events,
but you can set one easily.
