Tasks-track activities, Appointments-time tracking for tasks

Just as you can track activities for a contact, is it possible to track activities for specific tasks? Also, in the Appointments Form, just as there is a tab for linking to Contacts, is it possible to add a tab for linking appointments to specific tasks? I guess if these two requirements can be met, Outlook can transform into a Time & Billing Solution.
 
Activities (the Links collection) only applies to contacts.
