I know this has got to be in ther... I just can't find it.

How do I make my Business Contact Manager project tasks with due dates show
up on my Outlook Calendar?

I'm sure it is easy but I can't find it.

Thanks!

klmast,

The Outlook Task record item is a separate data object from the Outlook
Calendar record item. You can set any Task up with a due date and also
trigger a pop up reminder flag to fire as a reminder at a certain time of day
but this does not place the Task item into the Calendar folder. You can also
of course display this task item on the new To-Do bar in Outlook 2007 which I
assume you are using because you mentioned the use of BCM Project Tasks.

I could be incorrect but I believe that the simple answer is that you cannot
mix Apples and Oranges between these 2 different Outlook folder data objects.

You can mix Project Tasks and Outlook Tasks on the ToDo List. From the left
navigation bar, click on Tasks, then in the My Tasks box at the top, click
on ToDo List. Click on the Current View below named To-Do List. To
customize this further, I'd recommend going to View, Current View, Define
Views and make a copy of the To-Do List view, rename it, and customize that
to your liking.

Hope this helps,
Lon

Is the "to do list" only in 2007? I am running 2003.
Additionally, I tried to drag and drop tasks, but it gives me a "conflict
with another appointment" banner at the top

Yes, the ToDo List is new for 2007... I'm not sure about the conflict
message -- are you scheduling Events (all day) and that conflicts? It seems
strange that you're completely booked all day and really do have a
conflict...

The confilict message comes when I try to drag and drop a task to the
calendar as mentioned in another post. I have tried tasks that are due on
certain days, tasks that have no due date, tasks that have % complete, and
those that do not. Basically I want to have tasks show up in calendar, but
2003 can't do it as of now.
