taskmgr.exe is gone, where did it go?

Hi,

I cannot run WindowsXP task manager anymore. When I try to run it from
the task bar, nothing happens. When I key in ctrl-alt-delete, nothing
happens. When I go to Start-->Run and type in taskmgr.exe, I get an
error message which says "Windows cannot find taskmgr.exe".

Did a virus remove it? Or, did a virus/spyware take it over and did my
anti-virus/anti-spyware quarantine or remove it?

What should I do to fix the problem?

If you have someone with the same O/S you have, you can copy it off of
that machine and put it back in the right spot. You can also get it off
of the install CD too. You can replace an (exe) like that one as it's
the same on all the O/S(s), the one you're using.
