Taskmanager wont start

Hello
I can no longer start task manager to see what processes are running on my
machine
every time I try to launch it appears for about 3 seconds and then shuts
down
I have restarted ect without any luck
Any help much appreciated

I am having a trouble close to that but my task manager is gone completely. the little icon shows up at the bottom but the box that shows up says WAN(PPP/SLIP)Int If you can help that would be great thankx
