Mike Y.

I would like to delete items (icons) on Windows XP Pro.
taskbar & add new ones. I researched most Microsoft
information help but still a problem. I'm new to computers.
Help?
 
To remove an icon, r-click it and choose delete. To add them, you can drag
them from the Start, All Programs list to the taskbar.

if they are on the left side of your taskbar you can just right click on
them and delete them if they are on the right side you have to stop the
program from starting or you will have to right click them and exit
everytime you startup
 
Hi Mike,

Quick Launch - Unlock, right click Delete. To add, drag
Taskbar - These are opened programs, etc.
Notification Area:

Check for an option to not having the icon load in the System Tray via the
program(s) in question.

Other options for removal:

Go to Start/Run and type in: msconfig. Go to the Startup Tab and uncheck
accordingly. Then run this script to remove the disabled items from the
registry.
