Okay, I feel really stupid, but please will someone tell
me how I can get programs from starting upon boot? The
icons show up in the task bar and in Task Manager
Processes and it isn't necesary until I need them. Real
Player, AIM, etc... I want some of them to stop and can't
for the life of me figure it out.

On each program you don't want to start automatically, check its
Options to see if it has the choice not to start. Many can easily
and best be stopped that way. If that doesn't work, run MSCONFIG
from the Start | Run line, and on the Startup tab, uncheck the
programs you don't want to start automatically.
 
2 things...check each programs preferences to uncheck any start up options.
Then go to Start, Run, type msconfig. On the start up tab, uncheck those you
don't need to start up. You will need to reboot afterwards.
