Lisa

Hi, I have Windows XP Professional and all of a sudden I
have the "Quick Launch" Toolbar and a "Search" Toolbar
that remains on my Taskbar. I can remove it by right-
clicking the taskbar but everytime I log on it returns.
It is getting annoying. Anyone who knows how to remove
it please reply, or even better email me at
(e-mail address removed)
Thank you so much

I had a similar problem. Using regedit fixed it. I had the following in regedit:

[HKEY LOCAL MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon]

value==C:\Windows\System32\wsaupdater.exe,

Changed "wsaupdater.exe" to "userinit.exe" in the registry and deleted the "wsaupdater.exe" file in the System32 directory.

I only used Ad-Aware in cleaning out adware files, perhaps the others would have caught and fixed this for me.

Thank you for the tip.

This works for only a few. I have been comparing registry keys for three
days now trying to find the actual cause and fix. More information here
under Quick Launch:

Hi Lisa,
I am having the same problem but in addition to
the "Quick Launch" Toolbar and "Search" Toolbar, "My
Documents" opens also. I have checked everywhere. Did
you get a reply? Please email me if you have the answer
yet. (e-mail address removed)
Thanks for your assistance.
