I have flipped a switch, or something...and now when in one program and
moving to another the minimized program button in the taskbar blinks orange.
It is necessary to click the minimized program panel on the taskbar to have
to program come up.

IIRC, if you use TweakUI, there's a setting for flashing the taskbar if one
program "steals focus" from another.Look in Control Panel; click on TweakUI
Icon. You'll have to look for the specific option; I don't have TweakUI
anymore.

Thank you for your reply. I do not use TweakUI. Theis problem is almost as
though programs are opening in separate windows and the program is minimized
in the Taskbar and blinking orange. A simple double click switches to the
program... IT is almost like a settings change, but I don;t know what or
where I may have made sucha change if in fact I did!

Hello Edward,

That is a normal function of minimized program needing your attention.
Program has done the task or awaiting input.
Yust ignore it and it will stop blinking after several blinks.
Changing that envolves registry editing, which I won't advise.
