Hello,

After a few logins/shutdowns, my taskbar settings get lost. I have to
unlock the taskbar and reapply them (I'm mostly just changing the
location of quick launch icons and the size of the taskbar area).
Vista seems to be going back to some "default" - not the fresh install
default, but something...

In any case, this is quite annoying. I've google'd, and of course
there are just too much issues out there with regards to the Vista
taskbar, so I thought I'd post here if anyone knew offhand how to
address.

Thx,

- Mike

Your taskbar settings are stored in the registry key
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Streams\Desktop]
Try deleting this key, then configuring the taskbar the way you want it,
then rebooting.
The key will be recreated when you shut down and should retain your settings
on rebooting.
