This is possibly a duplicate.
I am new at using this post. Still trying to resolve my problem. Can
anyone
tell me how to get back at those who reply and offer suggestions?
Malke sent me a solution but I am not computer literate enough to
understand him on this issue.
How can I get back to him? I would like to tell him/her that I was
unable to see any dotted line, nor do I undersand where the Quick
Launch icons are.
You can't send me an email directly, but you can post just like you did.
Are you using Windows Classic desktop? I had a client who had the
"Quick Launch doubles" issue and insisted that he couldn't see any
dotted line. I connected to his machine using Remote Assistance and saw
that he had the classic (not XP) interface and sure enough, no dotted
line.
In that case, IIRC it was a solid line. I'll see if I can "draw" you
what happens here (pretend this is your Taskbar):
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Start Button| icon icon icon (Quick Launch toolbar) | (Sys. Tray) clock
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Right-click on the main Taskbar and make sure there is no checkmark next
to "Lock Taskbar". If there is, uncheck it so the Taskbar is unlocked.
Right-click again and examine the Toolbars (slide cursor to the right
to see the Toolbar choices). Do you have Quick Launch checked? If you
do, then probably the right margin of your Quick Launch bar has gotten
too far over, so it looks sort of like this:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Start Button| icon icon icon (Quick Launch toolbar
(more QL toolbar without icons) | (Sys.Tray) clock
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

This little "up arrows" are pointing at the real right margin of your
Quick Launch toolbar.
You need to "grab" the right margin of the Quick Launch toolbar and drag
it up next to the end of the Quick Launch icons so it looks like the
first Taskbar I "drew" you. Then you'll be able to "push" the tool bar
back down to one level. After you get it fixed, right-click on the
Taskbar and lock it!
I'm sorry, but that's as descriptive as I can be in a newsgroup post. If
this isn't your issue or it wasn't helpful, have a knowledgeable friend
or family member (someone who is *really* knowledgeable and not just
saying he is) come over and take a look.
