Taskbar problems

Hey, I am a recent convert to XP but I have a problem with the "auto merge" feature of the taskbar. My wife and I tend to have several chat sessions up in ICQ (AIM etc) at the same time. If the particular window does not see action for a while XP automatically merges them all under one taskbar tab. However the problem arises when one user on one chat window says something. I get the sound notifying me of a comment but have to click the tab and open ALL the windows to find the right one. Basically is there a way to keep XP from combining all my "similar" windows under one tab on the task bar?

Right click the taskbar, select Properties and uncheck Group similar taskbar buttons.

1. Right-click on an empty space on the Taskba
2. Click on 'Properties' (at the bottom
3. Uncheck 'Group similar taskbar buttons' (fourth checkbox from the top)
4. Click 'OK'
