Is there a way that one can restrict or prevent a user in
Windows 2000 or XP for that matter from Closing a taskbar
item? (next to the clock) This would be for a custom app
that loads at windows startup and then minimizes itself to
the taskbar tray.

Problem is- I need to prevent the users from Exiting the
application, by right clicking on it.

Thanks,

Steve

NoTrayContextMenu at tip 50 in the 'Tips & Tricks' at http://www.jsiinc.com

or

"Remove access to the context menus for taskbar"

in Group Policy at

User Configuration
Administrativce Templates
Start Menu and Taskbar.

Hi Jerald- I got really excited trying these but no dice.

Notraycontextmenu does prevent the menu's for clock, the
start button and possible speaker volume but not for the
custom app.

I wonder if there is a third party application that will
prevent a user from closing an application that is running
minimized on the taskbar?

Any thought anyone? There has to be some cool products out
there for this type of thing?

Thanks in advance.

Steve
