Taskbar - Open Programs 'disappear' from taskbar

Hi, I have a problem that I need some help with....

I am running XP Professional and have found that the
current 'open programs' do not show as taskbar buttons. I
have to Alt+Tab to change programs.

The taskbar appears to function normally apart from this
glitch.

How do I restore the 'open programs taskbar buttons' to
the taskbar?

Had the same problem, and have been searching for the solution for weeks!.
Tried this and it works great. Nice to have my taskbar working again.
