Taskbar Notification Window

I know this is not realy a problem but I like a Neat P.C.
so here goes: Does anyone know how to remove reference to
uninstalled programs in the past items of the Taskbar
Customise Notification window. All reference to these
programs have been removed from program files, shared
folders and application data folders. Not a trace of
these programs can be found anywhere using the search
function in XP. I also use a common registry cleaner to
remove any reference to uninstalled programs. Any fix
that doesn't require me to go play in the registry would
be appreciated. Nothing too complicated please....I don't
want to cause problems where none exists???

You must enter the registry to use the following KB. It's not that
difficult, but, with any registry change, caution needs to be taken.
