I didn't know where to send this, so I put it here. Hopefully it will get to
the right person.

I got the following message when starting my computer this morning.

"An Services and Drivers change was made for a known application file..."

The word "An" should not be used in this sentence. I know my comment sounds
ticky and it may not be a priority, but I feel grammar, especially in
commercial products, is important. I feel if MS (or any company, big or
small) is going to put out a product that they want consumers to buy, it pays
for them to make sure all grammar is correct. Otherwise it looks like an
uneducated person wrote the program.

Yes you are right. I`ve noticed this also. GRAMMAR TIMOTHY !! This will be
pretty low on the development teams list of the update issues. However, I`m
sure they will have taken this `on board` by the time the product goes RTP. I
recall, long time back, Bill S. encouraged these observations, which, I`m
sure, will be appreciated.

This is a helpful observation. My 10-year old daughter made a similar
observation about another dialog from the program--just out of the blue, as
she was doing some writing homework on my laptop. That one has been
fixed--this is definitely the right time to get these details
corrected--thanks for observing and giving Microsoft the feedback.

Do you think your ten year old daughter may hold the solution to the update
issue ?

Well - they've taught her some grammar rules, but I'm fairly certain that
they haven't taught her how to provide secure, authenticated. updates to a
product which will be targeted by the largest number of wannabee hackers in
the history of the planet....

I can remember well the level of tediousness involved in trying to make
computer-generated dialogs handle such niceties of grammar--and I only
needed to worry about English, and a simple payroll system. I don't envy
the folks who have to get those details right--and in a way which allows for
localization worldwide.
