Taskbar notation gone

Hi all
Previously, when attempting coping photos to cd I was getting a balloon in
the taskbar stating "you have files waiting to be written to the CD". This
notation no longer shows up. Appreciate any helpful advice on getting this
feature back. Thanks in advance.
