Windows XP taskbar is stuck & will not autohide???? Help me!!

My Autohide will not work with my taskbar, it just stays on the top of all my windows. I have went into properties and made sure it was checked, and applied. Now what do I do?

I too have the same problem and it beginning to annoy me, any help would be greatly appreciated
 
sorted!!!!!!!

I did it by system restore, it cured it, why I never thought of it firstly I will never know.......DOH!!!!!!
