I was putting my Favourites in the taskbar, but they all appear like the icon
for Internet Explorer (the E symbol). They used to appear like the icon on
the websites (like Pogo, etc.). Did I change something or how do I get the
right icons to appear on the taskbar?

You might have deleted the source icon that you dragged in your quick launch.

For example, drag any icon from your desktop to the quick launch (taskbar).
Delete that icon on desktop and see what will happen to icon from quick
launch.

Just restore to fix that.

Doesn't work. They still show as before. Don't know what I did, but they were
okay yesterday. I had to keep them in My Favourites where they all still show
as the E for Internet Explorer.

No, the icons are still the E icon but I pinned them, so at least I can see
them. Thanks for the help.

Do an internet search on "favicons."

Customized icons for websites are stored in Temporary Internet Files (TIF).
As long as the icon is still there, it used for your shortcuts. When the
icon is gone, the shortcut reverts to using the blue E icon.

TIF has a size limit. Older stuff is removed to make room for new.
Customized icons drift away over time. Or you might manually clear the TIF
and you lose all icons at once.

You can manually collect favicons from TIF to another folder - where they
won't get deleted as the browser cache changes. Use Properties of each
internet shortcut to select the icon that you want assigned to it. OR you
can download a program that automates this process for you.

Thanks very much Sharon. I usually clear by TIF every night before turning
off the computer. Right now, I have my favourites pinned to the start menu.
They still look like the E icon, but at least they have the website name
beside them. On the taskbar, they didn't. Thanks again for the help.

You're very welcome.
